To all my friends on Trapshooters,

I am a very fortunate individual. I had a small stroke in my left eye
and it gave me warnings of more serious consequences. After all the
tests were run, I was rushed into emergency surgery for Carotid surgery.
If not for the small eye stroke, the problems would not have been found and
I would have ended up in the Trapshooters in the sky. The stroke took away
1/3 of my vision in the upper left eye. Will I be able to shoot??? We will
see as soon as I am able to shoot. Please all shooters have your doctors check
your carotid arteries so this does not happen to you.

My brother in law just had the same thing, and he was on a motorcycle trip. He lost his left eye completely, but he is alive. Unfortunately he shoots left handed.

He's just happy to still be here.

When I had my carotid blockage in September, I blacked out while doing 75mph on I-75 South in Tennessee. Lucky for me there was someone behind me with cell phone. Paramedics were there quick. Was dead, but they brought me back after 8 shocks. Glad to be alive, two stents later I'm fine. No permanent damage, sorry about you guys, hope everything works out OK.

Mercury Sable earned it's 5-star crash rating that day.
