One can rust Blue with one tank and a Coleman stove. Three tanks are only needed for Hot Bluing. Rust bluing is a hassle, but it can be done.

if you are rust bluing all you need is a PVC scalding tank which costs exactly $20, you just pour boiling water into it.

There were some on ebay when I bought a tank for parkerizing guns before I duracoat them. Any welding shop could fab you one easy.
