black bluing

I had to repair the front sight area of a vintage simmons trap barrel. The barrel is like a matte black but not matte like modern shotguns think it used to be called black chrome but it is not at all shiny
Question is there anyway to match the finish up Birchwood Casey bluing comes up shiny blue so that doesn't work Help

If it is a Simmons it most likely has been bead blasted and then blued which give a matte black finish just like they did on the top of the receivers.
Just try the cold blue without polishing.

if the barrel is not sandblasted try to sandpaper it with 600 grit with oil and then bluing
