Todd, one needs only to read responses to posts like yours to come to the realization that 2nd amendment rights in the US are doomed. Nimby attitudes abound among individuals who choose to turn a blind eye unless they are immediately threatened. Collectively peoples from the 51 states can defeat power grabbing liberals but likely it wont happen.
Your list accounts for senators representing half the states. It won't take many more to doom gun rights forever. Meanwhile back at the ranch want to be patriots are snickering at the demise of liberal gay socialist Commiefornians without seeing the same dark clouds rising where they reside.
Robert T and others. What you really need to worry about are the Presidential exec orders now that the 9th circuit court is skewed toward liberal thinking. Obama has a huge number of signings ahead. the only thing that will stop him is a solid election in 2014 and 2016 for conservatives, republicans, and tea party folk.
Toddy, Thank you for your post. Also all you fellow Americans who are not emailing or writing to your representatives are part of the problem. VOTE! Vote them all out of office! Only way we will get change. Bill
Toddy. The United States is getting very close to ignoring the government. Our politicians have become like drunken little children spending both our money and having embarked on the biggest power grab and detention of personal freedom in the history of the USA.
If it keeps up and our welfare and white apologists continue to put socialist progressives in powerful positions ... the producers of our country will rebel. It's only a matter of time. We can only hope that our military will follow the will of the people.
Hopefully, we'll smarten up soon and reverse this move toward European Socialism like may just be happening in Australia. My wife works in the energy business with holdings there and their latest administration has just loosened the government's choke hold on fossil fuels.
Maybe some of that will rub off on the U.S. I believe we have a long slog to go here though.
The problem is that this treaty , once signed by the president (or one of his minions), stays before the Senate forever and they can bring it up and ratify it at any time - unless Congess passes a bill and a future President unsigns the treaty. Of course this one can issue an executive order and that will be it.
Our senators here in Michigan are both dumbocrats and I've contacted them before to no avail. All I would ever get back is some [email protected]#t drafted letter that made it evident my voice was going unheard. Luckily Levin isn't going to make another run and Stabinthebackinaw hopefully will get defeated!
