We are going to buy a new trap machine at my club here in Ma..
What is in your opinion is the best trap machine and why?
We shoot about 6000 cases of targets a year.
Thanks,
Joe

You can't go wrong with a PAT Trap. Most clubs use the Pat trap and that's what the ATA uses at the home grounds in Sparta. Click on the link above for full information.

The best machine is the Winchester handset, thousands of them out there cheap, easy to work on, throws a beautiful target, very easy to adjust, singles or doubles, what else could you ask for?

PAT...

reliable, easily adjusted... and if you buy doubles AND wobble, you'll leverage your shooting opportunities...

I have never seen a safe rubber, or a good long lasting rubber, totally in consistant behaves on the heat of the day, colder faster, hotter slower, spring replacements are better.

There are a lot og good trap machines out there, some are cheaper than a PAT too, like the GMV for instance.

One of the clubs I frequent has two PATS and I usually see about eight bands on the shelf at all the times I have been there but I have never been there when one had to be changed.

The Pat is a good deal for the club. It throws a boatload of targets between overhauls IF it is serviced properly. It is one of the quickest machines to switch to doubles and back.

Repair parts include bands, brake, brush, arm rubber and O-rings. Hydraulic machines take a little adjustment for seasonal variations in temperature.

My personal favorite is the Pro Matic for quality of targets. They DO like love and attention. The solenoid machines require frequent service and adjustments.

When the Solenoid Promatic is right, it throws a world class target.

Any machine will need a regular maintenance program.
