Friend of mine bought a a300 outlander for his son to start shooting. Does anyone know of a good shell catcher that he can pick up for this model. I have looked online and could not find one that clips to the receiver.

You can make it yourself, just steal a couple of your wife's elastic hair things when she is not looking.

I use one of these: Carlson 12ga Right Handed Auto Catcher Shell Catcher | Steel Empty Accessory | eBay

Has double sided foam tape to attach to the receiver. No damage to the receiver. Removable, and you can flip it open when you are shooting doubles, etc..

I “borrow” these from the wife’s kitchen supplies. I think they come on celery bunches. Work great, price is right.

The Carlson or beechwood wire ones are decent.
You need adjust them a bit bending wire a little now and then. If you put it on in the rite spot it works 95% of the time

I coach youth shooters and we buy the Birchwood Casey shell catchers from Brownells They are sticky back tape and work on all right handed semi autos.

They have a left hand version for LH ejection autos too.

I don't always shoot shells strong enough to need a shell catcher ...but when I do I use a t&s

This is my recommendation as well. Use them on Beretta's and they work great.

Learned a trick here on the forum. If you are using one of the Birchwood Casey wire-type shell-catchers, you can improve the effectiveness by getting some thin rubber medical tubing (I got mine on eBay) & slip a piece over the wire - it will catch more empties that way. The tubing can be a tight fit - I helped mine on with a drop of liquid hand soap. I have these shell-catchers mounted on a couple of 12-ga Remington pre-Model 11 Auto-Loaders - they work great.
