Its been over a year ago, He bought the 692 sporting with 32" Barrel. Went to the pattern board, Spent the afternoon shooting, I don't remember witch barrel, But one patterned about 4" lower than the other. I think it was the lower barrel that shot lower.
Thanks. I have a new gun (not Browning or Beretta) that is 3-4” lower at 35 with the under barrel so they diverge which is not what I’d like but the big issue is that the under barrel is 5-6” left at 35 from the over barrel and the unsingle in the combo. I just was wondering what might be considered “acceptable”.

Browning or Beretta? Toyota or Nissan? Levis or Wrangler? I believe it boils down to personal preference or fit and function. I prefer Browning because it’s the first firearm I ever shot (Hi-Power), but the first firearm I purchased was a Beretta (96FS). I own two shotguns…both are Browning products (Maxus and CXT).

Considering the BT-99 revolutionized trapshooting and essentially obsoleted autos and pumps, plus are still being manufactured, while being the most popular trap gun made (my opinion) I would pick Browning, hands down. I also suspect the Citori O/U is the most popular O/U on the market (again my opinion) So, no question got to be Browning.

Not to highjack the thread, but since you asked...Wrangler, ever since Levis decided to take a dump on my 2nd Amendment rights.

Had quite a few Browning firearms over the years, and most of their shotguns came close to fit, without alteration.
I have a beautiful early 687 Beretta 20 gauge, which is lovely to look at and to hold, but I need a stock fitter to obtain some cast off and a trifle more drop at heel.
The Beretta is light and slender, which most Brownings are not, but it just doesn't fit.
Just one personal illustration of why one might choose Browning over Beretta.

At what distance did this 4" difference occur?

When you watch O/U barrels being assembled before they go into the furnace you'd be forever amazed they even shoot anywhere near each other.

I've currently use four Beretta trap guns.......two DT10Xs and two 692s. Top and bottom barrels shoot in precisely the same places in the cases of each gun, so I guess I'm just lucky.

I have a Browning Citori 725 Trap. I wanted to like the Beretta, but the biggest reason I went with the browning is it fit better.

My gun has the 32” barrel. The trap models have a heavier fore end that makes the gun feel a little muzzle heavy. I like this for trap.

I wanted a Beretta semi auto, but again the fit went to the Browning Maxus.

I think your body shape determines which one is best for you.

Been shooting Beretta 682's for over 25 years + after Browning Service Department burned me for the last time. Then decided to try a pair of early classic BT-99's a few years ago, couldn't shoot them as well as the 682's so they found new homes. My oldest 682 has around 175,000 down the tubes and when it needs a tune up it will be back in a week from Cole's.

What brand? I would return and take money and buy a Browning....

I’ll leave the brand out right now so as not to derail this thread, but I’ll be writing up a review. It’s been a long and bumpy road. Some nice things about the gun but these barrels are the last straw.

On a side note, when dealing with a gun company after purchasing the gun through another dealer, how well does that work to get your money back? Long story short...

I bought a gun last July, the barrels were bad, sent the gun back in and dealt with the gun company not the purchasing store. Ended up upgrading the gun with another gun after 11 months through the company. Shot that gun... and bad barrels on this gun too... I just want my investment back.

Hi all, longtime lurker, thought I’d start posting...

Beretta for me due to fit and feel. Browning just felt clunky and less dynamic. Also there was concern on Browning based on all the negative feedback on Customer Service and lack of warranty. That said, I never went with the Beretta (or Browning) and eventually shot through Fabarm (bit barrel heavy) and CG (very nice no complaints) to Perazzi which I adore and swings like a dream. Guess I’m just an Italian gun guy. Lol.
