The Beretta Optima system is the newer model system? Say on guns made in the last 5 years?

If that is the case would a Optima Barrell fit on to a 682X frame that was built 10 years ago?

The "Optima" system, as you call it, has to do with the chokes.

Yes, the Optima barrels will fit onto the 682 receiver. There may be minor fitting involved. Have sold several sets of barrels for the 680 series of guns. If you are looking for a set, $845.00 delivered.
