Looking at a used, but mint condition Urika 2, 391 to use for sporting clays primarily. Bright receiver, beautiful wood (not Xtra). Two concerns are 28 inch barrel and no mid-bead. Mfg date is 2007. No box or extras. What should I pay?

No mid bead? It sounds like a field gun with the narrow rib and field wood. Probably around $700. The 28" barrel shouldn't be a concern. With the long receiver, the 28 is a good choice for Sporting Clays.

If it's a field model it will have a different stock. It's thinner and the pad is smaller. It may actually fit you better.

never look down the rib, look at the target, I wouldn't be concerned in the slightest with the mid rib bead.

I agree with previous posts. The 28" barrel length and lack of a mid-bead are no hindrance to sporting clays use. -Ed

my 391 sporting with 28" barrel has no mid bead. I don't miss the mid bead, buts thats me. if u have problems with the second shell failing to feed properly have Coles replace the carrier with the old style. mike
