Anyone changed a belt on a Pat? I have heard it SHOULD never be necessary.....but if you had to, plan on 6-7 hours.

If you mean the big rubber band that powers the throwing arm, yes we have and try to replace them every other year. They do wear out.

Its not a 6-7 hour job though more like one hour. The first time through probably double that.

The bands are a 10 minute job, the belt is another matter.

Belt, not bands. Bands are easy. Anyone changed a belt? Looks like the final drive belt on a Harley.

FWIW, About 7 years ago I talked to the factory about the serpentine belt change and they said it was not a field change out item and the machine would have to be shipped back.

I would offer that your first belt, on the rare occasion when it needs replacement, is to have an operating machine nearby for reference. Use this opportunity to learn the machine.

I will also say I have seen machines with over a million targets thrown that had a belt in good shape.
