Get a Lymans shotshell reloading manual, a good scale and recent data from the powder manufacturers website and study. If you bought a Mec press they have a lot of good videos and their manual will give you step by step instructions.

To start
When reloading "ANAL RETENTIVE!" Is a good thing!!! "NEVER START AT MAXIMUM!!!
Simple things like you store your powder elsewhere and only have the powder you are using where you are reloading. Likewise for primers and projectiles. One mix up here can be devastating!
Make sure the hulls or cases you are reloading have been sized to fit the chamber. In rifle and pistol reloading there are cartridge headspace guages that give minimum and maximum lengths. Undersize is very dangerous.
Then using a scale that is very accurate prove that however you are dropping is dropping the weight you want with 100% accuracy and repeatability. Do the same for shot drop in shotgun shells.
When you absolutely sure about the weight of the powder and shot drops on the AR scale of 110% (anal retentive scale) and on that same scale have matched, hull, wad and primer. Load one round and test fire it looking for anything that might be wrong. If that one shell is right you are good to go, BUT never let your AR guard down! Check often and if anything doesn't seem right stop and find out why!
Despite having a very Anal Retentive requirement, reloading can be a very rewarding leisure time endeavor.

Ignore the sarcasm, get a scale and a loading manual. As stated their is loading data online by manufacturer.
Go slow, play it safe, it's easy once you get the hang of it.

Reloading: a safe, easy, and to many an enjoyable way to pass time. You just have to be smart enough to read a few books cover to cover and follow directions. Then ask the specific question with each individual problem.
Remember asking broad questions on the internet will not help.
REALLY.

There are an endless array of threads here in the archives. There are several manuals:Lyman series 1-5, Reloading for Shotgunners 1-5 and RCBS Reloading manual that will be very helpful with your quest for not only loading how to's/do's/don't's but also packed with recipes.
Then you would be far more educated to ask more specific questions and/or provide us with information so we can assist you.
For instance, you might learn from the above to tell us:
What loader you bought and guage
What kind of load/loads your wanting to make
