I just got my new to me barrel for a 682 and it fits the reciever but the top lever doesn't come back to lock all the way and the forearm doesn't latch, is this a big deal to do and should any competent gunsmith be able to do this Thanks
If it's a brand new barrel never fitted to a gun it takes a couple hours to remove metal in the right places. If it's been fitted, maybe a lot less time, depending on the receiver and iron you are fitting it to, and if you want the old barrel to still fit right.
A "competent gunsmith" is pretty rare. If you list the area where you live someone here will point you in the right direction. Rich Cole is a Beretta specialist, in Maine and in Florida.
