Over the last 10 years or so I have seen many threads on here about Ballistol but I never thought much about actually using it. A few months ago I was ordering some products from my favorite shaving supply place and I noticed that they stocked it and recommended using it on your double edge blades and also the straight razor to protect the blades from rust. It makes world of difference in how long the blades last so I am now using it on my guns. It is great stuff. It is also water soluble and eco friendly

Bought it here but amazon.com may be cheaper. I needed other stuff so I got free shipping

I buy it by the gallon, works great. Non toxic, many uses.

Basically it is Mineral Oil with some additives.
