Hi,

Bought a new to us home with a media room. That set up/technology is new to me. Has four speakers (Bose, unpowered) in the ceiling "good to go." I am told I should run a subwoofer and a fifth speaker for optimum sound.

This technology is new to me and intriguing. Need recommendations re. receiver; brand, power, features, cost effectiveness, ease of use, what additional speakers needed, brand of flatscreen that is a good bang for the buck etc.

Anybody else been there and has experience? I know many trapshooters are tech savvy...

Check out the avs forum....but note that these guys are worse than trapshooters when it comes to high dollar equipment.....
