North Hollywood Sportsman's Club will begin the season with their first ATA SHOOT. Singles and Handicap and with enough shooters Doubles. Same format as usual. Lunch included. $66 for 100 singles and 100 handicap includes lunch. Dress layered. A new orange target is now thrown. Fred

We switched over to the all orange target a few months ago. Not a "new" orange, but an ALL orange target. Just to let people know so they can chose their color of lens. The color does not seem to help me, but nothing will at this age. Fred

The all orange target seems to give better contrast against the brown background than did the previous green target. But since I can't hit much anyway, I liked the green target 'cause it was an advantage: Took "sneaky-smart" picking of a blue lens! Gave an unfair advantage, and I even did well above average at an ATA shoot or two there. Now my "unfair advantage" is gone....snivel, snivel, but I'll be there. NHSC is indeed a very western and pastoral venue...and the people there are friendly and put on a great lunch!!

P.S. to Fred and racer: Was racer referencing, perhaps, black targets that used to be thrown at Palmdale's Fin and Feather? Sometimes a monochromatic or b&w target/sign or the like is perceived best when conditions vary not only in trapshooting, but in driving, hunting and the like?
