At the Grand - Village Pizza New Athens

This place was mentioned by @todddietrich in the Grand food post, thought we would check it out.
All I can say is Wow, what a great find and only 20 minutes from the WSRC.
The pizza was amazing, both the thin crust and the Chicago stuffed were delicious.
Gaetano, the Italian owner, is not only a great chef but he runs a tight clean ship that he is very proud of. He insisted on a tour of the kitchen while I was waiting for my pickup, all fresh cut ingredients, fresh made sauce and dough made in his 800 lb. Hobart mixer.
I'm sure the pasta dishes and sandwiches are great also, and the large pan of freshly rolled meatballs ready to cook looked amazing.
He mentioned some of the Grand shooters have visited 3 times in the past week, that's a testament in itself.
If he's there next year we will be serving his delicious pizza at our meet and greet, don't miss it!

This is probably my favorite restaurant out here. Not only is the pizza insanely good, it’s made from super legit ingredients. Normally I get stuffed-up sinuses and digestion weirdness when eating wheat and cheese in the quantities found in pizza, but not here! Gaetano does it right. “We make the sauce fresh—you can go back there and look! No canned bullsh**!” Love this dude.
