Anybody have experience with these boxes? Do they hold up?

Joe, I have 40 of them that I have been using since 2002. None broken or even chipped. If you use them in a leather shell box holder, wet the corners of the leather and jam one of the caddys in, I also shoved some shim shingles in around the corners and let it dry in the sun. Worked fine ever since. Good luck. Harv

They work great! They are larger than cardboard boxes though. I just had Lonesome Charlie make me a special box holder to carry mine.

We use two different colors one for short yard loads. Another color for handicap loads. They work great never had a problem. Paul in Nebraska.

In addition to the plastic boxes in different colors, Shell Caddy also offers a box holder that is slightly larger than usual to accommodate the boxes.

They work great but take up a lot more room than a cardboard box which can be thrown or folded when empty.

I bought their entire system (shell bag, belt, box holders and 10 boxes) several years ago from Gamaliel. I absolutely love them - great for reloading.

I tried to find them again a few years ago but was unsuccessful. I thought they went out of business. I want more of the boxes in different colors to do like psfive stated above.

Where can you guys get these now????

Hey guys/gals. I posted a site above that also lists the Shell Caddy System. I'm not sure on how the prices compare to others but it is another choice for those who depise Ebay.

Prices on the Trap Happens site are about the same for the boxes as the Ebay seller but the shipping charges on the boxes are just about half as high. Trap Happens looks like the place the go.......Thanks Matt.

I have about 80 and like them. Had them for 4 years and none broken yet.

I use 5 gallon pails to hold reloads (500-525) and do not box practice shells. The 4 sided Shell Caddy box makes it easy to "box" shells between rounds. Just slip the 5 sided box over it; flip the assembly over; place in pouch and remove 4 sided box.

500-525 empty hulls fit in a 5 gallon pail.

I still use cardboard boxes and flats for ATA shoots.
