Wally World is $7.50 or so. If I can spend $1000 to shoot for a week, saving $.50 a box ($20 for the week) is not worth the hassle for me. But then I will be flying in. They could charge $10/box and it would still be better than getting a cab, going to a store and lugging around 4 flats of shells.
If you really want to save money stay away from the tables.
No wonder trap is dying.
90% sure I am going in spite of the shell prices those "bastards" are charging.
We will have our own supply of ammo for the Las Vegas 1000, May 2-6. We are negotiating rates now. You will be able to order the ammo of your choice and it will be held onsite for you. Just pick up 4 of your boxes before each event.
What you were quoted is their off the shelf price for a single box.
Actually, as I recall both Walmart and Bass Pro Shop were at $7.75 for AAs when we checked in December.
BTW, thanks for the support Don. If you room with a buddy and book before February 13th you are only paying $795.00 for 6 nights in a nice hotel, first class transportation to and from the Club, 1000 registered targets, access to a private hospitality tent with casino games supporting the SCTP, a tram running to the fields, onsite, overnight gun and ammo storage, a chance to win some nice buckles and real money and a top quality, awards banquet to wrap up a great week of shooting fun.
I am definitely coming. My regular "buddies" have decided they cannot attend but my girlfriend will keep me company.
I am so sick of the freaking cold weather in Michigan that it is a no-brainer. I am looking forward to seeing your facility, You seem to have got things well thought out and are working hard to make it a great shoot.
I suppose I should have been kinder to Roy. Gripping about a slight premium for shells just seems so insignificant when balanced against all the services you are providing for the shooters.
