I love the Remington Nitro 1300fps and Winchester Supersports 1300fps shells for Trap games and Calcutta auction tournaments. I can't seem to find a load that gives me a similar result. I'll be using Remington STS and Winchester AA hulls, Winchester AA style and Windjammer Wads. Need it to be 1 1/8oz. Any help would be much appreciated. Even at WAL-MART these things are over $8 a box with tax now so I would like to take find a load that is close.

Check out Win super field load data. It burns pretty nasty but gets on up there in speeds. Iffn that dont get it fer you try some Long Shot. Dont be scared off by the flames out the end of your barrel. It too is pretty nasty. both powders very fast loads and within pressure limits.

lots of luck

Our duck load was 1400 FPS with 1 & 1/8 ounce. We used 540, which is the same as HS-6.

I would think you can accomplish your objective with 540, 7625, or Suuper field to name just a few.

Here's one for you:

1 & 1/4 oz shot

Fed primer

Fed case

Remington SP-12 wad

32 gr 7625.

That one is a bout 1350 FPS. Do not use in win or rem hulls.

I have loaded Live Bird loads with WSF for a friend and have gotten relatively soft shooting loads without the muzzle blast and flash of Loudshot, er,,,, I mean Longshot.

A little residue in the bore, but most ultra high speed loads do that.

If you had Federal GM hulls, you could load Unique, my favorite Caps powder.

What are you going to use these "Elephant Loads" for?

I am trying to understand the advantage offered by 1300 - 1500 fps loads. I know the Olympic shooters use ultra fast loads on their super fast targets, but for American style trap, don't 1145 - 1200 or so loads do the job? I generally shoot 7/8 oz. at 16 and 1 or 1 1/8 for handicap at about 1180. Would I pick up additional targets by going to a faster load? Would like to hear from converts to the faster load approach. Regards, Ed

bet he's wanting it for the 4th or 5th shot on an annie. Why else would you think you needed that much speed? try some nr5 .shot buffered and as fast as you care to load it. 1 1/4oz load will put more shot on the target at the longer ranges. lots of luck (it'l take it) and glad it's not my shoulder taking the pounding

I too am looking for a 1250 to 1300 FPS load, 1&1/8 payload, STS hulls, Winchester WAA12 wads and Winchester 209 primers.

I see several but the pressure seems high. I can load 1&1/4 1330 FPS at lower pressure than I can find 1&1/8 at 1250, seems wierd to me..........

Skeet100, a reload I use for long shot stuff is:
1-1/8 7.5s, 26.5g of Herco, STS hull with WAA12 or Rem Fig8 and Win209 primer. 9300 psi. Its pretty close to 1300fps. YMMV though. I love this load for pots, annies, etc.

And WHAT is it ?? I shoot Oakley's with 29 grains of Longshot and 1 1/4oz 6's...but sometimes wonder if SPEED kills ! Titegroup 1 1/8th loaded to NITRO27's is a pretty fair load. I can watch the shooter's with 1 1/4---1 1/2 of shot start to flinch after 10 to 20 shots.

STS hull 23.5 grs of unique win primer AA wad breaks them from any where and wont beat you up. This will put you 1290-1310 with 1 1/8 of shot

Hey Flip your right. I have spent many Sunday afternoons tearing through the woods. I rode KTMs up until last year. I bought an old XR250 to putt around on since I don't push it too hard anymore.

I like the looks of that load winchesterm12 mentioned (23.5grs of Unique). I think thats what I'm looking for. The longshot is just too much. I don't see how your pattern could look good at those speeds.

Yep Bob is right..... 3rd and 4th Annie shots and I shoot a lot of protections. I shoot a 34" full choked MX2000 and a 34" Full Choked TM1 and have found that if I use the Longshot, or WSF my patterns go to hell. !300fps or so seems to be as fast as I can go and get good results. I have tried 1oz loads and 1200-1250fps loads but see a big drop off in my scores. I just don't break'em to well when I have to shoot the longer shots. I'll shoot registered all day though with 1200s from anywhere without a problem. Its just hard to hit them a foot off the ground without some speed. I'm 28 so I don't have any flinching or problems with heavy recoil yet. I'll switch to an semi auto and shoot 7/8oz loads when I'm older and beat up from my careless heavy load cannon blasting.....HEHEHEH
