JOHN (JACK) FURMAN

of Vernon, B.C. passed away at Kamloops, B.C. on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 95 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Myrle (Dunn) Furman. Jack served in WWII and was a member of the First Special Services Force from 1942-1944 AKA "THE DEVILS BRIGADE".

If you remember the movie of the same name, these guys were the real deal. Jack was from southern Alberta. The highway that runs from Lethbridge, AB to Helena, Montana (where they trained before shipping out to Italy)past our farm and becomes I-15 when it enters Montana is named for these warriors. I post this to honor him and all other members of this company of heroes from Canada and the USA.

Thanks for sharing this Ron. It's kinda ironic that a man who was part of the "Devils Brigade" is probably sitting at the right hand of God, sharing stories with the rest of the brave men and women who saved the world for us. RIP.
