Do you mean the bolt that sits horizontally (along the longitudinal axis of the forearm)? The one that's about 4-inches long and threads into the front of the forearm-iron tongue?

If that's the part you're talking about, it really isn't an "adjustment screw". It's simply part of the overall mechanical design of holding the forearm iron and wood together. Of course, like every firearm bolt/screw, you should check it periodically to ensure it's still tight.

Additionally, this part is on all "old-style" BT-99s . . . not just the Competition model. Note that the "new style" BT-99s do not have this part (the forearm iron tongue is shorter on the new models, too.
