OK Neil I apologize. I will give you an example of what I was inferring. Take a center fire rifle for an example, the POI at 25 yards and 200 yards are the same. Since the sights are mounted above the bore, the barrel is angled up and the bullet crosses the line of sight at 25 yards. Then because of gravity it crosses the line of sight again at 200 yards. Smallbore rifles do the same thing at at 50 feet and 50 yards.
The same thing applies to shotguns since the sights are mounted above the barrel. Your calculations fail to take this factor into account. At close range the POI will be low, it will then cross the line of sight and be high. Then gravity will bring it back to the line of sight. The POI will be dependent on the distance from the muzzle.
