I have found that holding low works best when visability is low. This allows you to see the bird quickly. The subcoscious mind then can calculate where to point the gun and when to pull the trigger inorder to hit the bird. It can do this very accurately even if you lose sight of the bird. HMB

hold it where you can see the target --- the old service rifle (post front sight) rule of thumb was "light up - sights up: light down - sights down".
