.700 dia. wad vs a .740 bore
can someone explaian to me how a .700 dia. wad seals in a .740 bore ...is it just the petals that seal or does it not seal till gets to choke.tried to colaspe one in vise as if fired but dia. does not change...

The base of the wad expands as it is forced out by the gases created from combustion of the powder. Kinda like how a Minie ball expands to meet the rifling in a Civil War musket.
