27yrd shot ???

West Coast 7.5 and Remington STS 7.5 have the best patterns in guns I have owned and ironically they have the highest antimony content. YMMV. Scott

Ok here is my deal. I have lots of STS 8 shot and the only thing I can find in my area is Eagle. So I know the STS shot is harder and so that is my question will the harder and smaller 8 shot be as good and the softer 7.5 bigger shot from the 27?

I'd use the STS, but that's just my 2 cents. I watched a guy break 24 one day from the 27 and AFTER the event he realized he had picked up shells loaded with #9 shot by mistake. It was STS shot.

Here's the deal, Corey. Some Eagle shot (stamped magnum) is OK, most is as soft as it gets.

At 27 you need all the pattern density you can manage. There's no argument about that. Most of your competitors will be using hard shot and so will have an advantage over you from the start. Those are the facts. How you solve that problem is up to you. Hard shot may not be local but that doesn't mean it's unobtainable. It's a cost/benefit tradeoff that only you can decide.
