I have only shot 12 ga guns, so I have a couple of questions regarding 20ga.

l. Will the stock off a 12 ga 391 fit on a 391 20ga?

2. Is 20 ga a practical gun to shoot trap with?

3. How would you describe the difference in recoil between a 12 ga (semi-auto) vs. 20 ga (semi-auto).

Thanks for any feedback.

I. Not sure
2. Sure is, use a 1 oz load at 1200 with a full choke and a gun that fits you.
3. 12 would kick less with same payload assuming gun weight is the same
4. Remember 99 percent of trap shooters are shooting for the fun of it, and most of us are so far in the red that we wouldn't win back our losses in our lifetimes even if we never missed another target. Just have fun.
5. When you miss a target don't blame the gun, its kinda like kicking a dog. Enjoy the game.

Loading choices with the 12 GA basically cancels any benefits of a 20 GA in my mind. You can download the 12 GA with 1 oz, 7/8 oz, even 3/4 oz of shot and mimic anything the 20 GA will do. I agree that many 20 GA guns will produce more felt recoil than the 12 GA. Some of the 20 GA guns are just plain extra cute with their smaller receivers and all but for flexibility, the 12 GA is the gun to have and use....breakemall....Bob Dodd
