I was at the Missouri Trapshooters association over the weekend. (My shop is just a mile from the traprange.)

You ought to see it.

New vendors areas, lots of gravel for more parking, grass looks beautiful, and anything that dosen't move has been painted.

I think Trapwife has it right to call the 2020 Grand American the Retro Grand!

2020 will be a Grand American to remember.

Thanks to all the MTA board members, Lyndel and his crew, Bob and Jeannie in the office, and all the people donating thier time and skills to make the 2020 Grand American one of the best Grands ever.

If you love trapshooting don't miss this one!

I'm really looking forward to it. And it can't be any hotter than south Georgia.
I have been to the Georgia State Trapshoot. Great place with great hospitality. Hope you enjoy our Missouri hospitality!
I was there on Friday and I agree it looked better than it had for years. The ATA folks were in the process of making sure all the traps and equipment was working and the electric company had been there doing updates.
Yes Frostyman, i forgot to mention all of the upgrades on the power.

I hope the shooters that come will remember the MTA home grounds are NOT the old Ohio site and it`s not Sparta . You cannot compare the two . The MTA & ATA folks will have done everything humanly possible to pull off the best possible Grand 2020 with what they have to work with . Each and everyone of us shooters should be very happy that we are able to have a 2020 Grand . The MTA and ATA are going to present the best possible total event at a facility that has never hosted nor was ever built for a shoot of this size . If everyone works together towards our common goal we will get through it . Bitching-Crying & Moaning will only be counter productive . I`m going , I`m shooting , I`m going to have fun , and I will be very thankful to each and everyone that made this possible for me and many others .

Agreed! It is going to be great. I love Sparta of course. New experience and club to shoot at. It will be amazing.

The Georgia State shoot is usually in late April and the temps aren't that bad. This year we pushed it to mid July and that was challenging. But I had a decent run so I think I might shoot better in the heat. At least that's what I'm going to keep telling myself.

Doug,

Thank you for the update. Have been wanting to shoot at MTA for several years and with the temporary relocation, this is a great excuse. Looking forward to seeing you there.

This will be my first time to the MTA as well. It was always just a little too far for the handicaps, but for this special Grand, figured it was worth every effort to support our sport. Looking forward to it!

Hi BoilerMatt, welcome and hope you enjoy our Ozarks hillbilly hospitality.

This is a tourist area so there are lots of places for good eating and entertainment.

Should be a shoot to remember.

Hi Jerry, Looking forward to seeing you as well. Other than shooting 100 straight, the best part of trapshooting is seeing all the old friends from around the world.

Sorry we will be missing our Canadian friends, our Aussie friends, and that group from Brazil, along with others that come from around the world to shoot with us.

Weird times in the world now but we will make the best of it
