You can load 28 gauge, 20, gauge, and 12 gauge with Unique. In the 12 gauge you will have to load 1 1/8 oz. see the Alliant reloading website linked above.

You can load Herco in the 28ga but it isn't the best as far as patterns in my testing for the 28ga. Unique is far better and most guys love Universal clays. I was not able to beat my patterns with Unique so I never switched to Universal and Unique has been easier to find as well. Herco is Great 1 1/4 to 1 3/8 loads in a 12ga though!Jeff

I guess it depends on the gun. I get great patterns out of 14 gr of Herco in my 28 ga. Win hulls, win primer, and clay buster HS wads.

Universal by all means. I like it in 20 and 28. I used Unique for years but I think it's just a little hot for 28.

I have fired in excess of 300,000 rounds of reloaded 28ga ammo. All with Unique. I would love to hear what too hot means! 13 grains of Unique provides 1200 FPS at as low and lower pressure then Universal clays?

Too hot? That makes no sense that I can see. Jeff
