At a minimum, you'd have to pull the trigger COMPLETELY apart (including the hammer pivot pin, which would have to have to be drilled out because its peened in place).

Then you'd need to install 870 action bar lock spring.

Then partially reassemble, install a new hammer pivot pin, peen into place, and finish reassembling the group.

And that assumes no other work is needed (thats all I can think of off the top of my head). Figure a few hours time, a drill press, a staking tool, a part or two, and some skill are needed.

OR, I'd trade you your 1100 Timney release (assuming it is an all-steel all timney trigger, NOT a converted OEM trigger) for my 870 timney release posted here:
