Thanks to all who made the first Doubles Marathon at Downers Grove Sportsmens club a Success. We started about 0930 and finished about 330PM.
Jim Al & Cliff each shot 1100 doubles targets
Wayne Larry & Harv each shot 1000 doubles targets
Pat shot 600 doubles targets
Barb and Steve each shot 500 doubles targets
Jim M shot 300 doubles targets
Frank shot 200 doubles targets
8400 great targets and I personally did not have one reshoot!
Thanks to Maddy, Zack, Kent, Nick and Ken for loading support and score keeping
Thanks to Dean for putting this together on short notice.
Doubles Marathon will be a future offering from Downers in the 2011 Target Year

This sounds like a large time, if, I were closer(in Ca. now) I'd be there in a second.

Hope you have a great shoot, let us know the turn out and results.

What is the big prize?

Doubles will be Targets Only but you can register as many as you want! Shoot was put together on short notice but ATA approved for Sunday 10-17-10. 10-12 local interested shooters but do not know how many will go the distance.

Thanks to Dean Merkle and his crew for putting on the Ironman doubles event today.
6 shooters completed the 1000 targets, Jim Olin, Larry White, Al Maly, Cliff Gardon, Leland Hassler and Harv Shell.
The free lunch from the club was a nice surprise and Cliff Gardon's homemade potato salad was great. Congrats to all, lets do it again next year.

We had a good time, Didn't shoot 1000 but 500 is my limit. Maddy did a very good job scoring. Targets were good, beautiful weather, free lunch, it is something your club should do as often as possible. I enjoyed shooting with Pat& Barb, Jim Matteson, and my friend Wayne. Doubles marathon's are fun & the club benifits from throwing lot's of targets. Dean kept the targets shootable with an incoming wind that kept raising the targets. I thank you again,Steve Farver......

Ken, no centuries in my group, didn't hear of any in the other group. I did manage to lower my average 7 targets, grrrrrr.

Ken, you missed a good shoot and some nice targets, and everyone had a good time. Mandy and Zack scored all day and they did a bang up job. They didn't take a break except for lunch and after talking with the other shooters only about a total of five corrections were made on the score sheets for called targets on 8400 thrown. Can not say enough about those young adults. Kent, Nick and Ken filled the houses too fast and we did not get a long enough break between rounds. Don't think we had twenty broken targets eather. Thing went smooth all day. Picked up 2 targets on my average though. Maybe next year for you...

Our Next Doubles Marathon will include Awards, Lunch and the same scorekeeping, support and great targets. The 17th was a trial and another HCP shoot was going on in the area. Watch our website for the 2011 DGSC Doubles Marathon. Thanks for the comments and feedback
