What manufactures choose their forend wood from the same tree as the stock vs just pulling ‘close matches’ from different bins?
Specifically, is there a grade of wood where the forend and butt stock will be a matched set?
i think Krieghoff could have done a better job matching on this one...
If you have an extra one sitting around, I am interested in a Krieghoff factory K80 forearm piece in English Walnut, no cracks. Any contour is acceptable. I would like a piece with some figuring.
I will pay $200-$400 depending on what quality and condition you have.
Question for K-80 Owners:
Have any of you attempted to use metal polish to give a nickel K-80 receiver a hand shine?
Specifically a standard grade receiver.
My concern is the polish could erode the nickel.
Wanted some feedback before I attempt it.
I’m interested to know when the KX-5 came out. Why exactly did they create it? (E.g. is it a response to competition?)
Does the KX name mean anything or the ‘5’?

In the market for a new gun. Had a chance to mount an F3 SuperTrap, SuperSport, F16, and K80 - by far the most comfortable for my hands and build was the SuperSport. My Browning XT as it stands shoots about 80/20 so I think the SuperSport with the adjustable rib should be fine, but just wanted...
Seems like there are quite a few different 'standard' engravings for the K80. By standard, I mean their basic scroll engraving. They look pretty similar, but there are subtle changes and I wonder if anyone has taken note.
Does anyone know how many versions there are?
Is there any...
Today I experienced something I have never experienced with a K32 and I would like to get some opinions on what it might be. Any advice/recommendations are appreciated.
Today on the last few shots of a round I noticed that the breech was opening after the shot was fired from my top...
