Thanks for all of the input. I drove down to Scheels and traded in the brand new in the box BT-99 for a Browning SG Citori CXT 12 ga. 32" barrel with adjustable comb. I got a full return on the never fired BT-99 and only added the difference in price. It is easier to open/close than the BT-99. If you are near a Scheels, I would urge you to visit the store. I have never heard of a store returning a firearm (unfired) for full price. In fact, if I couldn't find a suitable replacement, I could have received the full purchase price back. I find that unbelievable and yet I was there when it happened. :giggle:
That’s excellent. I’m glad they took good care of you, I’m a big fan of Scheels.

I looked at the cz last week I didn't like the the quality for the price. Browning is a little cheaper quality is superior. Great choice on the cxt! You could have found a used perazzi!!!
When I was in Scheels I did think of getting a used trap gun, however there were none available. Truth is I don't know enough about firearms to chance a used gun, be it long gun or handgun. I have been burned more than once.

I will pick it up on tomorrow (Monday) after a mandatory three (3) day wait in Colorado plus a high state tax rate plus county taxes. However a 5% military discount partially offsets some of the tax. Scheels has the best gun selection within 75 miles of Cheyenne. Therefore a 100 mile round trip is necessary whenever I head down there. Usually the interstate road is a pleasant drive (if there's no accident) and I enjoy the store, plus I am retired and look for things to keep busy. In addition the salespeople are very pleasent and helpful.

Guns Unlimited has Browning Citori universal High post Adjustable rib O/U for $2694 with an adj comb, much better quality control than CZ and name recognition when you sell it, you can't do any better than a Browning for the money. 402 339 0771, I have sold many of these and never any problems. GU is a real good place to do business . the BT 99 80/20 is another good option, I have sold 30 or more of these and never any troubles
This is what you will look like shooting a Browning over and under. 🤣

I like Scheel's as well.. Bought a 725 CXT before Christmas.. it's a great gun...Congratulations on a deal gone right at a big box store... those are hard to come by!... BTW, I traded in a Colt Gold Cup, barely used, in its box for my Browning...

I am thinking of purchasing a CZ Trap shotgun at Scheels for $2900. I welcome your thoughts on this. I know it is not as good as the Kreighoff KX-6 I sold a few years ago when I thought I was done with trap shooting, but at close to 85 y.o., I don't have the funds for another KX-6. I would be interested in something more than a Browning BT-99 which except for the hard to open and close hinge would work for me as I don't shoot trap doubles. It appears that Scheels in Johnstown, CO only has the CZ All American Trap 12 Gauge Combo O-U Shotgun in my price range. I have no problem with a used trap gun, but I don't know if Scheels has one available. TIA.
Save your money and a better gun.

You have to look for bargains— Gunsinternational, Dawsons Enterprises, Jaqua’s, large gun shows— I bought 2 Perazxis within the past month. Mirage 30”, adj comb & soft touch, excellent except blueing wear $2500 + shipping on GI—-MX8 combo, adj comb, rad, case, 2 trigger groups, again, only blueing wear, might need a locking block in near future $3400—-see previous comments r.e. CZ, Tristar, Turkish guns in general— I repeat my rant: buy guns made in Japan, England, USA, Italy, Belgium,Germany and Nowhere else

If you decide you want that CZ, I would sell you the same one for $2,200.00 plus shipping to your local FFL, and you'd have plenty left over for some flats of shells!!

I have shooting buddy who has one..Loves it..Another shooter bought the same one after seeing his..

I shoot with a couple of guys that have them (CZ's), one loves his, the other has less than a box or two through it. Some screw broke of and he's waiting for a replacement under warranty. Expected in another 4 or 5 months. He wants the gun replaced but they won't do it. Now the other guy is considering dumping his before something goes wrong. I never had interest in one and certainly don't now.
