I use the Walker’s and have had great results with them. I don’t recommend the Bluetooth ones because as good as it seems, it gives you constant interruption from your phone which for me is distracting.

I use custom molded Bluetooth earbuds in combination with either SiriusXM thru the phone or an AirFly transmitter plugged into my older model iPod. Either way I can drown out all the comments from the peanut gallery and assorted distractions (I know you shouldn't let stuff bother you, etc. but you aren't me). For a music lover and someone who relies on it to get me in the "zone," this has done the trick. Oh, music genre? 70's and 80's hard rock, of course!

I use Otto Noizebarrier Micros and absolutely love them. The carrying case recharges the ear buds and I get probably 10-15 recharges of the buds before I have to recharge the case. They’re spendy, but customer service (turns out they’re in N. Illinois only about 20 miles from me) is excellent - one of my earbuds stopped holding a charge after a year or two. I was just outside of the warranty but they said send them in, and sent me a brand new set, no questions asked. The new ones have been going strong for 3 years now. Their main business seems to be making comms and hearing protection for the military, so good enough for me…

I have seen some people using earbuds while shooting and want to try some out. I was curious what recommendations you have. Also what affects have they had on your shooting.
Thanks in advance!
Fleet Farm has epoxy self install ear buds. Conforms to your ear. $18. Wash and dry ears. Split into two part epoxy in half to make 4 halves. mix to opposite pieces for exactly 30 seconds and press into one ear for 10 minutes. Carefully remove and do the other ear. Sit still and do not eat, chew or talk while in your ear. Allow to cure for one day.

I second Shokz. You can still wear your ear plugs.

This is the way I do it. Use my regular molded ear plugs and these. I have also quit using ear buds everyday and use these. They are awesome and last all day.

I use the award winning TETRA digital electronic earbuds that require custom molding by audiologist, because I didn't know how good ESP and the like were at the time, so I went with the best. If you are a hunter you love the Tetra, apparently you can hear birds, turkeys rustling at 100 yards, so Bill & David, audiologists, invented these buds for hunters and got a lot of accolades and awards for these really expensive hearing devices and ear protectors. If you are looking for electronics for the range only, I think these expensive Tetra's are overkill as there is no special secret algorythm for electronic noise suppression, but there definitely a secret sauce for discerning prey in the wild. I was thinking electronic ones.
I dont think the electric earbuds are worth the expense… they dont offer that much of an advantage over traditional earbuds, plus they require extra maintenance and care. I had a pair that I forgot were in my jeans and they went through the wash… it ruined them, and i had to buy another pair.

That wouldn’t happen with normal foamies.

... or, you could try Mack's silicone soft earplugs (12 pack, $10) from Amazon. I haven't tried them for shooting yet, rather I use them at bedtime to block the noise of my two giant breed dogs who snore and lick themselves at night in our bedroom - they cut out 90%+ of sound. I cut one to the 12 wafers in half and just mold 1/2 into my ears. They are reusable for a long time and stay formed. They definitely cut out more noise than foam earplugs as they form a complete seal on the ear canal. TETRA's, kryptonite is there on/off/volume control, which I have returned once for repair over last 4 years.

I respectfully disagree.. I started using digital hearing protection that was fitted for my ears 10 years ago. It was a game changer at PRS matches for me at the time. Hearing stage directions and hit or miss calls was really important.
I cannot hear anything with regular hearing protection and it makes me crazy. Being able to hear people at a conversational level is really enjoyable.
