First off, on behalf of the board of Fennville Rod & Gun Club, I’d like to say thank you to everyone that came out and supported the grand this year
results:
Saturday was our annual skeet tournament, we had three shooters that shot a 47 for 1st; Paul Lubbers, Marty Angers and Chris Kamps, unfortunately Marty had to leave early due to a health issue, so the shoot off was between Chris and Paul, shooting doubles from stations 3, 4 and 5, Paul came out the winner in that over Chris. Dan Leppo took 2nd with a 46.
Sunday was the big day, starting with our monthly pancake breakfast cooked by an amazing group of volunteers. Followed up by the start of 5 man teams and protections, with a score of 227 targets out of 250, the team of Ken Simms, Steve Van Vells, Jared Stork, Pat Onaforio and Nick took 1st (forgot the team name), and Neil’s Misfits took 2nd with a score of 211, followed by loosing hope with a 207, and shot heads with a 206, and team Allegan with a 190.
in the auction there was some very high bidding with multiple teams going for over a hundred dollars and even a team that went for $300.
after 75 targets with a very interesting wind situation, we had 2 teams come out on top breaking the elusive straight pot with 75 straight (colton/Hope and Jared/Steve VV), coming in second was right behind them with a 74 which was Ken Simms/Nick, 3rd was a 72, which I believe shooters split the money and they shot off for buyers, shooters were Ben Brush and Bob Lindsey and the father/son team of Connor and James Serie, 4th place was also a tie at 71 between Phil Jones/Dan VH and Rick K/Louie and the shootoff was won by Rick and Louie.
once again Steve VV beat up on all of us in 3 guns up over Larry k
keep and eye out for the upcoming shoots here for Fennville and hopefully we see everyone at Allegan next week Sunday for the 100 bird shuffle
