First off, on behalf of the board of Fennville Rod & Gun Club, I’d like to say thank you to everyone that came out and supported the grand this year

Saturday was our annual skeet tournament, we had three shooters that shot a 47 for 1st; Paul Lubbers, Marty Angers and Chris Kamps, unfortunately Marty had to leave early due to a health issue, so the shoot off was between Chris and Paul, shooting doubles from stations 3, 4 and 5, Paul came out the winner in that over Chris. Dan Leppo took 2nd with a 46.

Sunday was the big day, starting with our monthly pancake breakfast cooked by an amazing group of volunteers. Followed up by the start of 5 man teams and protections, with a score of 227 targets out of 250, the team of Ken Simms, Steve Van Vells, Jared Stork, Pat Onaforio and Nick took 1st (forgot the team name), and Neil’s Misfits took 2nd with a score of 211, followed by loosing hope with a 207, and shot heads with a 206, and team Allegan with a 190.

in the auction there was some very high bidding with multiple teams going for over a hundred dollars and even a team that went for $300.

after 75 targets with a very interesting wind situation, we had 2 teams come out on top breaking the elusive straight pot with 75 straight (colton/Hope and Jared/Steve VV), coming in second was right behind them with a 74 which was Ken Simms/Nick, 3rd was a 72, which I believe shooters split the money and they shot off for buyers, shooters were Ben Brush and Bob Lindsey and the father/son team of Connor and James Serie, 4th place was also a tie at 71 between Phil Jones/Dan VH and Rick K/Louie and the shootoff was won by Rick and Louie.

once again Steve VV beat up on all of us in 3 guns up over Larry k

keep and eye out for the upcoming shoots here for Fennville and hopefully we see everyone at Allegan next week Sunday for the 100 bird shuffle

The weather was pleasant and the wind made the targets sporty. A big shout out THANK YOU to all of the Fennville volunteer staff that contributed their time and skill set for the Fennville Grand programs continuing success for the competitive shooting industry.
It was remarkable trapshooting on Sunday for two teams to break the straight pot bank ($978) splitting the proceeds. The wind had no effect on the shots taken by Steve Van Velds/Jared Stork & Colton Skinner/Hope Wright finishing in 1st place 75x75 sharing the top spot on the podium with the teams not going into a S/O. Congratulations. The team of Dowagiac Nick/Ken Simms finished in 2nd spot 74x75 on the podium by themselves. A tie for the 3rd place winners 72x75 split the shooters purse Conner Serie/James Serie and Bob Linsey/Ben Brush. But in the option purse S/O Ben Brush/Bob Linsey was able to claim top spot. Capturing 4th place purse in a S/O and a final target needed by the back up shooter saw Louie Kernyak/Rick Kryzinski rise to the occasion. With Rick crushing the needed target after Louie had missed the target for the win.
The program's trapshooting team event of 250 targets (21 yd & 25 yd mark) found the team of "Storks Raiders" Jared Stork/Dowagiac Nick/Ken Simms/Pat Onofrio/Steve Van Vells capturing the 1st place spot on the podium with a score of 227x250. Congratulations! "Neil's Misfits" consisting of Tim Schanz/Rick Schanz (anchor)/Perry Moore/Travis Forest (aka Fennville Travis)/Yours Truly managed 2nd place 211x250 on the podium.
It was nice to see plenty of competitive trapshooting athletes and a large gallery in attendance for this magnificent program.
As always "Let Freedom Ring!"

I would like to thank Fennville and there staff for putting on another great shoot congrats to all the winners and hopefully now Steve VV (LUCKY) can afford some shirts with sleeves LOL hope to see you all at Allegan Sunday
I think Steve still has a death grip on the first dollar he’s ever earned. Those sleeveless shirts aren’t going anywhere! Haha
