I was brought a trigger guard that theaded in on one end and had a screw hole on the other.
The threaded post was broken off the guard. It was made of an alloy and the owner thought I could just weld it together.
I did not debate that with him.
I put the two pieces together, held in a vise. I drilled a hole that aligned both pieces and tapped the hole for a common screw thread.
Using a high grade cap screw and some thread locker, I adjoined the two pieces.
Blending in little gray JB weld, hid the crack line perfectly.
I cut the screw end and head off and blended them into the shape of the trigger guard.
I wanted to polish the whole thing, it looked so good, but thought better, as it was supposedly off an antique firearm.
If your broken part has enough material for a hole, you might adjoin them with a rod or threaded rod.
Good luck,
