Since I'm a Browning 725 owner, I have to figure out a way to let others know what gun is mine and not theirs! I'm trying a disc of delicate surface frog table on the base of the pistol grip, for now I'm watching it for long term adhesion marks.

What do all of you do? Last week I had a shooter grab my plain G III/IV725 Trap and leave his 725 Trap Golden Clays! Now that's a good trade! The week before that they had to make a announcement on the PA system for shooters to check their guns, it happened to a shooter heading out to the line!

Here’s an easy fix. Keep your gun in your locked vehicle until it’s time to shoot. Finish your round and then return your gun back to your locked vehicle.

Another efficient way to clearly identify your gun is to buy a cheap bungee cord and then secure your gun to the rack. The gun is easily identifiable and it may also prevent your gun from falling off the rack.

Always put a sticker somewhere.
A grip cap...(if your into that sort of bling)
A colorful barrel rest if you use one.
^^^ this except I use aluminum tape (the real stuff) cut into shape for the bottom of the grip, then copper tape (again real copper) on top, but smaller than the aluminum.
Looks nice and easy to spot from far away.
I used to use colored electrical tape, small pieces before that.
Make my own barrel rests with foam and two magnets.
Works even with titanium chokes.

My Beretta JE687 Unsingle has a Maroon PFS with matching forearm, previous owner painted it, I just left as is. It also has an Angle Port choke without the ports.
My Beretta JE687 O/U also has Angle Port chokes without the ports.
They also have the slimmer Sporting Clays/Hunting forearm rather than the standard Trap gun forearm.

Some good ideas above involving the bottom of the grip. Little story to go with someone taking the wrong gun off the rack.

At the MN state shoot last year, my squad mate was shooting his Blaser for a handicap event. The next squad came over to our trap after shooting their first 50. We were heading out to start our round when we all grabbed our guns. First 5 on the post went well for all of us. Well, I look back and the squad behind us is laughing and smiling towards my squad leader. In between our position change, they grabbed another Blaser from the rack and ran it to him. He had grabbed another shooter’s Blaser by mistake, broke all 5 from the 27. He had mentioned it felt a little different and that he will be implementing some changes to his. Hahaha.

Custom Luggage Handle. Got some from a Vendor at a trade show with their logo. I used them for a while just because I had them and used it to protect the barrel in the rack. Works great for single barrel but is a bit small for O/U. I used two attached for a while for the O/U because I had half a dozen. I don’t use them regularly anymore. My gun is pretty distinct and I use a leather protector for the barrel in the rack.
