What would be a good powder?

I use titegroup for loading pistol and like it a lot. I was hoping to use it for shotgun as well but I guess that's not happening.I like titegroup/ Highgun. I’m also becoming a fan of Nitro 100 NF. e3 seems to be available all of the time if you want to stick with a large flake powder. If you can stomach the price. Luckily I have some e3 left I purchased before the price went crazy.
Figure Eight wads aren't really what you should be using in Federal papers.I use titegroup for pistol and due to the difficulty finding 700x would like to use it for shotgun as well.
I reload federal/peters paper and can't find the hodgdon load data I need. With the 700x, I load 18.5 grains which yields 1200 fps (I don't rightly remember the pressure). I load paper hulls, one and one eighth ounce of lead shot, chedite 209 primers and figure eight wads. Can someone give some advice on titegroupe powder to maintain the 1200 fps speed. Thanks
Highgun and titegroup are exactly the same powder. They just started packaging some as Highgun to get shot gunners to buy more. it works very well for shotgun loads . I prefer it over perfect pattern.I use titegroup for loading pistol and like it a lot. I was hoping to use it for shotgun as well but I guess that's not happening.
I've heard this a few times regarding 700-X but any idea what is unique about that powder that prevents it from being packaged in 8 pound jugs? It's not as fluffy as Clays so 8 pounds should fit in the same containers Hodgdon uses. The biggest container 700x comes in is 4 pounders now due to new shipping regs!

I'm not saying you're wrong, but why can you get other powders in 8 lbs. jugs? The biggest container 700x comes in is 4 pounders now due to new shipping regs!

Hodgdon has good 1.125 ounce loads with titewad and cheditte primers. check it out. I have been using titewad in federal papers for about 3 years now. It helps that titewad becomes available several times a year.I use titegroup for pistol and due to the difficulty finding 700x would like to use it for shotgun as well.

For Titewad and Win 209 primers, I use 12-c1 clone CB3118-12AR. For Titewad and Cheditte primers, 12s3 clone CB2118-12Hey @tomk2 , what wads do you use for your papers?
also note that Titewad and Nitro 100NF is the same powder.Accurate's Nitro 100 NF (now a Hodgdon product) can load everything in 12 Gauge from 3/4 Oz. to 1-1/8 ounce, and data spanning this range is now on Hodgdon's website. A wee bit less dense than 700-X, but close overall.
Edit: Somewhat faster burning than 700-X. A #27 or #28 MEC bushing should get you into the general ballpark for Nitro 100 NF.
I call BS. If 700X is not sold in 8lb. containers it is because of production logistics or management decisions, NOT because of "updated shipping regulations".It’s the way 700x was classified for shipping. It can be shipped only by big freight carriers not by ups, fed ex, etc. in a 8 lb container. Because of this Hodgdon eliminated the 8 lb container for packaging in 700x.
the supply disturbance is because the manufacturing equipment was disassembled in the Canadian plant and is to be set up in one of the 2 American companies that produce powder. I don’t know the names but one is owned by our government and that is where the equipment went. I understand currently the line is not back in operation yet and it’s unknown when it will be producing powder again.
I thought Hodgdon receives its powder in bulk and repackages it. Any decisions regarding how much of each bottle/jug size to make are made by Hodgdon management; there aren't any government regulations involved in that decision-making process. It’s the way 700x was classified for shipping. You need a larger diameter wad for Federal plastic or paper hulls. Try the ClayBuster Red 8I use titegroup for pistol and due to the difficulty finding 700x would like to use it for shotgun as well.
