From what I have been able to learn, Joseph Galef Co (NYC) was an importer of Beretta guns in the mid-1960's.
....Something happened, and by 1968, Galef was replaced by Garcia Sporting Arms (Teaneck, NJ) as the Beretta importer.
....Some of the Beretta TR's have the Garcia name on the barrel, while others do not. ....All carry the Pietro Beretta name.
The Galef models shown above are not the same as the Beretta TR's, and were offered after Galef was no longer the Beretta importer. ....I have read, but can not confirm, these models were made by M.A.V.I., also in Gardone, Italy.
The light-weight folding guns were the Beretta Model 412 and were offered in several gauges. ....Garcia sold these as the FS-1 model designation. ....Galef Companions were the light-weight, folding guns based on the Beretta Model 412, but were not the same.
