Ive been away from the sport several years now but I’m looking into buying a new gun. What would be everyone’s choice between a BT-99 AR and the new model BT-99 Plus? Thanks.
I would have thought it would’ve been higher than that. Is that with the beads stacked?I get a 60/40 on the pattern board out of the box.
With the research I’ve done, your the first person I’ve seen say they’ve regretted getting the Plus over the base model.Bought a new BT99 Plus three years ago. The only thing that is adjustable is the comb, receiver engraving, and grade three wood. If I had it to do over I would save my self a $1000, and buy the BT99 with the adjustable comb and recoil pad. I do prefer the ejectors. These new plusses are not the same as the old true plusses. Just my opinion.
What’s your pick out of the two?I have both of the BTs you mention, the plus has an adjustable comb and the AR does not. The adjustable rib on the AR does not adjust much, there’s a screw on the back of the rib that allows the rear to travel up and down, and there is a roll pin in the front that can be removed to two different holes to adjust sight picture. Also the blueing on the plus is much darker than the blueing on the AR. Almost forgot to mention the wood on the plus is oil finished instead of lacquer, and slightly better in grade. They both however have the square “competition” style forend as apposed to the beaver tail. You also get engraving and an ejector on the plus.
Yes. I took it out of the box and shot it on a pattern board. It really works for me.I would have thought it would’ve been higher than that. Is that with the beads stacked?
I received a BT-99 from my grandfather back in 1977 for graduating high school, I never shot it, it's been sitting in it's case since then. My dad would not let me take it to college (I wonder why?????)Ive been away from the sport several years now but I’m looking into buying a new gun. If it’s a 77 model it’s one of the “high shooters”.I received a BT-99 from my grandfather back in 1977 for graduating high school, I never shot it, it's been sitting in it's case since then. My dad would not let me take it to college (I wonder why?????)
Can't adjust the rib.I just bought a new entry-level BT-99(one with no adjustments) and i put the PFS stock on it!--about a little over $3k invested total!
i can do "any adjustments" i need to do--AND I LOVE IT--and shoot it well.
i am not familiar with AR model tho??
anyway thats my suggestion to you
