I don’t recall running into this before. I found a handful of fired hulls. The ones with the tall base jam up when sizing/decapping. The short bases eject properly. Is there something wrong with my press? It’s old, I inherited it from my grandpa, he probably loaded a few hundred thousand shells with it :)

Nothing wrong with your press, it is those tall brass shells you are trying to reload. Tall brass is an unnecessary thing, it is archaic. It is a carry over when black power was used. Toss it.

-I had the same problem till I got looking at my 10ga Mec press that would size and deprime 10ga high bass shells just fine. My solution was to unscrew the chrome tube so I could get to the 1/4 x 20 bolt/ jam nut and deprime tool head attached to it. Loosen the jam nut and unscrew the deprime part a couple of turns, or what ever it takes to fully push the shell out of the resize ring. I may have had to replace the 1/4 x 20 bolt for a longer one, but I'm not sure. I think I had to on one Mec jr. When you bring the handle back up after depriming, the deprime tool head pushes the shell back out of the chrome tube/resizing ring. You'll have to do what ever is necessary to get enough travel to push the shell down enough to disengage from the fixture. Good luck.
