I am quite disappointed that Smith & Wesson has sought to cease production of Thompson Center firearms and accessories for the last 1 1/2 years. Apparently, the so-called TC company is currently up for sale. One of the greatest black powder firearms manufactures, not to mention customer service-oriented businesses shelved. I had a slight difficult time removing the breach plug (item#31007763) from my Encore 209x50 black powder barrel. I figured to get a second plug to have in the event of any futuristic failure. But to my dismay Thompson Center parts are no longer in production. I have searched the internet gun parts sites and it seems no one inventories parts anymore. I just happened upon this news and wonder why the closure wasn't really publicized thru out the gun minded community?

My understanding of S&W has tried to sell off some of its investments but the judge involved will not let them. TC is the biggest one. They had a buyer a couple of months ago but the judge didn't like something about the purchase so he said no.

There are a few private company's trying to keep TC alive you could try them and see if they can meet your needs. SSK, Stratton or HausofArms are some out there.
