I just got an upgrade on my vision prescription, and I'm going to get new lenses. I'd like to hear from anyone who uses shooting glasses what color lenses work the best for them. I've got plenty of frames, Post 4, Dicot and Randolph, so I'm just gonna pick one and call a good lens company. I appreciate the forum and any help you can offer.

When I first started shooting trap I was told by an opthamologist to go with the lightest color without squinting. If you are a one eyed shooter or use a magic dot then just have the script put in the one lense if these glasses are for shooting only.
Its good to experiment with other colors, but in the end you will only use 2 colors.

Your eyes could be very much different from mine, but I shoot better with regular polarized sunglasses in daytime. Same as driving.
I'm not doing well with rose or any of those red/purple color lens on orange targets.

I used purple lenses for years with great sucess, but now that I'm older I'm finding a bronze lens works much better.

Lens colors enhance targets differently for all of us. I would suggest trying to find someone with a set of non-prescription lens in various colors and see what brightens up the targets best for you. You can then get your prescription filled in that color.

Everyone’s eyes are different. Over the years I tried several colors out to see which made the targets “pop” out more. That’s what helped me decide on a color - lighter rose / vermillion worked best for me. I also have a light yellow for those few times it is overcast.

I like purple for green or orange targets. I have light, medium and dark purple. I rarely use the dark purple. So I will most likely not order that again when my scrip changes.

I also have a light yellow lenses for heavy over cast days and shooting at night under the lights.

I'm assuming your current frames are for prescription lenses. If not, prescription lenses won't fit, they are thicker. As me how I know. Fortunately, L&M Lenses called me before they filled the order. [emoji41]

Try different colors to determine what works best for you.
What works for me may not be what is right for you.
