The lighter Parcours barrels make the option of 34 inches more swingable than previous 34" KI barrels for sporting.
Seeing more 32 inch carrier barrels set ups now for skeet and subgauge sporting events.
I know one sporting pro who hasa Zoli with 34 inch 12g barrels and carrier barrels for subgauge.

Well , I have a Beretta that says sporting on a 30 '' barrel . Does it mean it is verboten to shoot skeet with it ? :) :) What ever works ( gun ) is perfect to use ,imho ! I've seen serious and good Skeet shooters with MC Stocks and high rib 32''barrels . Then on the other hand ,people with Winchester Mdl. 21 & 28 barrels shooting sporting clays . So bad , so wrong :) :) I hope that is the right answer to your question

I have quite a few skeet, trap, and sporting clays guns. "Pull & Mark" stated it pretty close to the way I see it also. I can shoot skeet and sporting clays with most of my guns but I prefer the ones with choke tubes for sporting clays due to the variations in distance on different stations. I have a couple of 32" sporting clays guns that I shoot skeet with. My Browning 32" XT trap works pretty well on Sporting but it sucks on station 8 skeet. Some shoot 60/40, some shoot flat, regardless of how high the rib is. (my SLR5 Fabarms is the flattest shooter I have even though it has a pretty high rib on it. 12 ga for trap and sporting, 12, 20, 28, 410 for skeet. All is fun to do. My 2 cents worth. Regards, Bob

Browning rates their CXS (skeet) as a 50/50 pattern
The CXS is a Sporting Clay Model!!! Not a Skeet Model!!! All of Browning's Skeet Models of ole. The one's with the silver nitrate receivers all had a 60/40 POI.

I too had a problem with hi 8 after I switched from a 28 inch barrel to a 30 inch barrel, for a short time. Of course a left handed shooter may have the opposite house? I shoot right handed. It really changes up your brains site-picture on this station. I noticed only a slight change on low 8 during this time. If you keep shooting your XT 32 inch barrel, you will get used to it. Its just that your brain has to re-boot the site-picture as it were. If you were to shoot a flat of shells at this station, before the end of the day, your problems should be gone. Of course the longer barrel did help me on stations 3,4 and 5. Like any change a shooter makes. It will take 3 to 5 thousand rounds most times to get used to it. Most shooters know if its a good change long before they get to this point. I'd say you should know (good or bad) by say a 1000 rounds, give or take. Good Luck to Ya. break em all Jeff

I didn't see anyone " hijacking " a thread. The OP ask what was the difference and one gentleman offered his opinion - no. It's basically the same as mine - no there isn't a difference. Just advertising hype to sell more guns. Trap guns are meant to shoot raising targets, so they shoot high. Skeet and SCs guns both shoot flat . Barrel length, balance, forearm design, etc., is just a personal preference, nothing more. JMHO

From the Browning CXS page:

"The CXS specializes in great handling, target acquisition and consistency for the sporting/skeet shooter who also wants to take his shotgun hunting."

Just sayin'...

The Skeet part was not in the add last year when I checked!!! I normally do not recheck websites after I look at them. It just shows me that Browning is continuing to change the adds up, to sell more guns. sigh!!! It must be the economy. Its just like the 50/50 POI. NOt too long ago, the only Browning shotguns that had a 50/50 POI were there huntding line of shotguns. I still have most every year of Browning Catalog's going back to 03. break em all Jeff

POI is basically the same. The main difference is cosmetics. I prefer a beaver tail forend, so I like Skeet guns.

I have looked long and hard at a Krieghoff K-20, but do not want a Sporter forend. For that kind of money, I will get what I want, not what they want to sell.
I just looked at a Browning 725 sporting, For the money I want the beaver tail forend. So I passed. They do put a beaver tail on the trap model. Cant get anyone to tell me if trap is 60/40 also or if it shoots higher.

Interesting how things change over the years. I bought a Citori Sporting Clays Edition with a 28” barrel, 1992 model that works well for skeet and sc’s. I do get good natured comments from the SC guys shooting a saddle gun until we look at the scores. The older Citori are some of the best buys around. I have shot a few rounds of trap with it when I did not have my trap gun with me. A 28” barrel and 8lb 2 oz gun weight doesn’t work very well for a trap gun but it smokes targets just like any other gun when you center the target.

Are you a beginner, or are you professionally engaged in bench shooting?
You can start doing bench shooting with almost any gun designed for shooting at a moving target.
I feel you would be better suited spending your time on a bench rest shooting forum. Have a great day ;)

I know a gentleman that is in his 80's now and doesn't shoot much anymore but there was a time that he was a very accomplished trap shooter AAA27AA, he also shot skeet very well and he was better than average on a sporting clays course and he shot only 1 gun for everything, a Remington 1100 competition, the big thing is the gun fit him well and he knew the POI, the rest is just shooting.
I shot lots with him, for sporting clays, singles and doubles trap he used a LM choke, handicap from 27 was IM and skeet of course was a skeet choke, said he never felt the need to use anything else, his words were if your on the target you will break it and you will be surprised how far out you can break a target with a LM choke if your on it.
