I was looking at some 10ga loads and seem only interested in some with IM4-4756. Now, l can't seem to find any. Seems it was discontinued several years ago. So now l am looking for some. My dealer can't find some.

The two Powders a lot of shotgunners miss is PB and IMR7625.
Im sure by now there are "new" powders that have the same characteristics.. Us old farts just dont like change.
It is true that I don't like change. But the fact that 4756, 7625 and PB were discontinued was flat out ridiculous.

No I don't believe the new powders that could be considered replacements have the wide spread of reliable usage that these three did.

800-X is the worst metering powder I have ever seen. If you don't weigh every powder charge you will not know what weight you are loading.
I use it in 600Jrs and it isn't to crazy. But it is alittle trouble some.

But now that 4756,7625 and HS7/571 are no longer produced I feel it's one of the last remaining with the versatility and patterning performance that the others displayed.

It's worth the effort to load.

I guess the big reason is that I am wanting that powder is that it seems to be the only 1 that they list as a solution to the load and other components that I have on hand. And building Non-Tox loads for that cannon is rather quite powder specific the way it is already. Not like the good old days when you could load Blue Dot, HS-6 or HS-7 and be good to go.

They said it was to be discontinued back in 2018. Still alot of one pounders on shelves around my stomping grounds. Several internet sites still list it.

Nevertheless, there will most likely be some available at my Estate sale as I don't see running out in my remaining years.lol

Hodgdon's found a new method of making gunpowder that reduced the amount of time and man hours significantly but numerous powders could not be made using that methodology so they were discontinued. PB, 4756 and others fell into that category. I do have something on the order of 11 pounds of SR4756 (a near-completely filled eight-pound jug) I might sell.
