I don't think I would have paid $199.00 for one set of these but the 50% coupon on 2 sets made it worth it (yes, it still cost $199, but we got two sets to try). My wife and I both agree that they work.

6X Hearing Enhancement for Normal Hearing to Moderate Hearing Loss - not perfect, but good
I can hear hulls rattling in the bag - and all the clicking/clacking of a gun's operation but the gunshot silences them as advertised. I can also cut the aplification down when shooting and the 29dB NRR is still in play.

29 dB Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) no way to prove it but it seems on par with foam plugs and the set of fitted plugs I had made at The Grand
5.0 Bluetooth Audio for Studio Quality Audio & Hands-Free Communication works fine
SportFit Ear Hooks to Stay in Your Ear No Matter What took a while to get used to it and now it's good
No More Bulky Ear Muffs
Shuts Out Sounds at 85 dB or Louder seems to work at blocking the report
29 dB NRR with Foam Tips We prefer these over the silicone tips
22 dB NRR with Silicone Tips
Rechargeable Lithium Battery
12 Hours Hearing Enhancement & Protection Run Time seems accurate
120 Hours Standby Time
We find that discussions at the trap range are improved with these devices.
We tried them at home and TV listening is improved.
I'm planning to test them at church.
The AXIL company offers many versions of hearing devices (protection, amplification, blue tooth, and so on) and prices range from $139 upward to the thousands. The more costly offerings don't have the cord which would seem to make them more useful away from the shooting area - while also allowing Bluetooth phone calls and hearing protection from loud noise.

NOTE: I have absolutely no financial interest in AXIL.

I had an earlier version of these without the bluetooth and they worked great for about three years. I much preferred these to standard ear plugs because I could still hear other people talk and they did help me to clearly hear the scorekeepers. I had misplaced mine a few months ago and finally found them two weeks ago. I charged them and then used them during practice the other week only to find out that they no longer cut-off the higher sounds so they are not muffling the gun shot. Oh well, nothing last forever and while I am disappointed that they've quit working correctly, I will more than likely obtain another pair.
