Lubricating a break open shotgun

Have YOU ever read the Perazzi owners manual. It clearly states GREASE on hinge pins and mono block.
What do you think they make this stuff for?

So the manufacturers, say to use grease,
but a few old timers have told you to use oil. Gee, I wonder what I would do?
It really doesn't seem that difficult, to follow the manufacturers recommendations.
Beretta Grease, Perazzi Grease, Kristoff Grease, Hmmm I don't know.

Thick skin...gotta have some thick skin.
Not too much real innovation going on with shotguns, so many of these types of questions get asked repeatedly. As a result some tend to get a bit snippy with responses.
Use the search feature and you will find a number of responses by people who claim to use a number of non gun lubes to maintain their guns.
From my perspective, use what is recommended by the manufacturer and you probably won't have much to worry about from improper lubrication

Didn't know that meant that we have to listen to a bunch of B.S.!
People claimed the world was flat, do you believe them too?

I use Tetra Gun Grease on all joints and rubbing metal-to-metal locations; hinge, monoblock, inside walls of receiver, etc.... Not much grease...a very thin film.

I use Mobil One Synthetic motor oil. Use to use gun grease and after seeing how much grit it collects I started using oil because it works well and cleans easily. While gun manufacturers give good advice, my own success with oil has me ignoring the grease advice since it appears some manufacturers have different recommendations. My new CG Summit requires/recommends light oil be used at lubrication points.

Didn’t realize an BS was posted. I answered a post which for some reason you were offended by. Wasn’t aware if people respond to something you don’t like it’s automatically BS but thx for clarifying it for me.

I present proof of proper lubrication for a break open shotgun.

I never asked you to defend yourself, nor did I wish you to attempt to.
It's really sad that some believe it's ok to give B.S. advise to someone looking for helpful information.

Just my opinion. I am taken back with how few times shooters clean there guns and some even brag about going thousands of rounds without cleaning. I think grease or oil are both good choices just clean after shooting. It only takes a few minutes. John
