I'll second Briley Chokes. I too like the extended chokes so you know what choke is in the gun without removing it. They also add some bling to your shotguns barrel. I really like the gold ring around my old Midas Grade chokes that Briley made for Browning. Today Briley does not make Brownings extended DS type chokes for Browning. The quality is not the same for the new lowest bidder for these chokes. Unless you have a barrel gauge to measure these chokes they may not be marked properly. There has been some proven mislabeling (to some degree) of these chokes. I would add don't bother buying chokes with porting. Its a waste of cash and they serve no real purpose, other than spread powder residue around the end of your barrel. At least a ported barrel serves a purpose to some degree. The degree seems to vary by poster. Briley also offers a discount for a full set of chokes. I don't think any other brand of choke maker does this? Briley even have sets that include a speed wrench to help change chokes faster for different stations while shooting Sporting Clay's if you like. Good Luck with your quest. break em all Jeff
If you want an extended choke, go with a Briley. They are high quality and a good selection of length and styles, ported and non ported. I like their speed wrenches too.
I like the Kicks Smoke Chokes; they are well made and pattern great for me. My Brileys, Carlsons, and factory Mobile chokes work good too, but I have the most confidence when I've got that Smoke choke screwed into my Beretta 682X..JMHO!
One guy at our club was using the ported Comp choke for doubles and the space between the two were filled with crud. I guess if you take them out and clean them every time, it’s not an issue.
I have one gun with chokes and it’s a single and I use factory tubes. Your supplied Browning flush Full is the best choke for the whole trap field. JMHO
I have a Guerini and a Beretta with tubes, and a handful of aftermarket Carlson chokes for the Beretta. They all seem nicely done.
Every Briley choke tube I have ever encountered has tiny concentric rings, like they just didn't want to make the final effort to polish out the tooling marks. I can't imagine that producing an optimal pattern. When I ask Briley, they tell me the tooling marks aren't there.
The biggest difference between any of the 3rd party chokes is going to be how they look and their weight at the end of your barrel. Puregold, Kicks and Comp n' choke all add some weight. Muller is lightest, but aluminum and several folks have had them crack or split over time. Extreme Ti are also light and look very cool, and you can get them in natural Ti gray or anodized black. Also pretty easy to color anodize Titanium at home with 9v batteries and Coke soda 18v gives you gold; 36v gives you blue.
