I believe that the Zoli Z guns are the best buy on the market. They handle very well, are soft shooting, are very well finished, have no problems, and are famous for excellent service.
I had one myself but a friend wanted to try it and so I handed him the gun and he shot the main event with it. When he returned he told me that he had just shot his best score ever and wanted to buy the gun. I sold it and now looking for another. My friend that bought it put his three Perazzi's up for sale when he got the Zoli.

Glad to hear all the good experiences with this gun. Just picked it up today. Thanks, Smoky!

Btw, this is an almost 9lbs gun, feels like 7lbs, kicks like a heavy 28 gauge. Softest shooting 12 gauge I've ever shot (okay, that might be a dozen, but still). I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't shoot it for myself.

Had an unsingle trap with a high rib over under fitted. Earlier version's rib fastening to barrel had issues. Gun sent back for ejector timing issue was not corrected. Triggers had more slack than expected. Earlier version stock had a larger grip and was easy to torque the gun. Some owners were able to ship guns back for warranty work with paid shipping. My shipping was not covered. No service are in the northeast.

They have good machine fit and design. Very soft shooting and latest versions have addressed older issues. Just beware of the older issues if you are buying used.

I have three Z guns. Close to 15k rounds and No problems. No issues with the Z from several of my friends who own them. I have one friend who shoots a Krieghoff and mentioned that in all of his shooting he’s never seen someone with a Z gun having an issue. Norbert of Z is one of the best and friendliest gunsmiths in the country.

Not sure how the physics works on this but they are very soft shooting guns. Z claims it’s some secret of theirs having to do with the barrels. Whatever, it shoots soft.

The drop out trigger feature is unnecessary but it’s a cool factor. And, it’s a great trigger.

I’d like to have a custom P gun someday with a 7mm non-taper rib, 34” fixed choke barrel, bespoke stock, etc., but, the Z gun will still absolutely match it in performance and still be better in some aspects just as Brietling is a better watch than a Rolex. Maybe a Holland & Holland is a Patek Philippe. Who knows. The Z is a straight out great gun.

Thanks for the feedback. The one I just bought has a gooey pad butt pad on it and I couldn't believe how soft a shooter it is. Previous owner (Smoky) said its a combo of both pad and gun. I really wonder how it would feel with a normal pad, or if goey pads are really that effective, when combined with an already mild recoiling gun, as I've never used one before. Its unreal how soft shooting it is.

Just bought a Z-sport and I can’t wait to shoot it. I’m hoping all the reviews I’ve read come true for me. I’ve had a bad stretch of cheap guns and I’m jumping out of that game now.
I bought the one you were looking at from smoky in the classifieds a couple weeks ago. He had a gooey pad from trapdude on it - its the softest shooting 12ga over/under I've shot. I love it, I'm sure you'll love yours as well.

Excellent guns. Strong actions, great barrels & triggers, great balance. Super service. I own 3, all used. BUT, I do not use them for trap, as I have a dedicated trap gun...should be fine for doubles, but I'd get the 32" barrels. I have a 75cm Kronos and its great for skeet, 5-stand, etc, but a bit too lively for trap.

I'm having a hard time finding specifics on this gun. I'm really looking for a gun to shoot trap and the few times a year I shoot sporting or skeet. The trap combo is a bit out of my budget so I was thinking about the HR sporting or a trap O/U. I'm going to need a left hand gun so that really limits my options to buy used. What is the difference in rib height and POI adjustments?
