Has anybody tried these? Able Ammo has a bunch of them in stock for a good price. Herters no more.
Thanks
Mark
There's been a little exploratory work on them so far but basically we are waiting for Tim's test on the 1 1/8 oz. @1250 fps. I've shot a flat of the 1 oz. @ 1325 fps. and they are very good. Now, what does that really mean? They blow targets up like you would hope they would. Have not put them on paper. The perceived recoil for me was acceptable to continue shooting them through an OU. Tim is going to test the hardness, which supposedly is 5% antimony. I suspect they will have a real adverse effect on Rio's Target Load market and they are priced pretty close to each other. Rio has quit Texas mfg. Highly competitive mkt., and good for us.

the price is good at able but shipping kills the deal. is there some kind of special code or something to get free/reduced shipping?
Beetle, shipping on shells is a bitch to say the least and usually a deal killer. However, Aguila does show up at the US Nationals in San Antonio in late Oct. and if you went, you could place your order ahead of time and pick them up there - it's a great environment.

Academy has a limited selection of Aguila but if you can shoot the 1 1/8 oz. @ 1250 fps., they have them. Free shipping and if out of state, no tax @ $5.99/box.

Since mid-January I have shot about four flats of the Aguila 3Dr 1-1/8 7-1/2s. During that same stretch I shot about four flats of the Remington American Clay & Field in the same loading. I found I was getting better breaks and scores with the Aguilas. They are now my go to round for handicap. I just hope the Silver Dollar continues to stock them. Their everyday price is $60/flat and during the Money Shoot, the Southern Grand and the State Shoot they discount them down to $53/flat. I haven’t tried the lighter loads yet for singles but I intend to later this year.

I have shot a flats worth of the 1 1/8 7.5 at 1200fps and liked them a lot. Bought them at local academy on clearance to try and now they don’t carry them would like to try there lighter loads if can get my hands on them.

I recently tested the 1 1/8 oz.#8 1150 FPS at singles ......they smoked targets as well or
better than any practice loads that I have tried since the demise of Herters. If I
spray DRY LUBE in the chamber of my Ljutic they WILL eject !

I won a flat of them, 3dr 1-1/8 7-1/2 @ 1250fps.
Had to use a rod to pound them out of my Alfermann and they just barely made it over my shoulder with a Ljutic. My sloppy 725 gobbled them up and spit them out but that’s a lot of shell for doubles..,
I’ll stick with Estate SS.

The power smells different then RIO, AA and Estate. My buddy told me they sound different as well. I was also shooting 11/8 1150 8 shot. I bought 10 flat's from our club order for 50/flat. I think I like the RIO 1200 and 1250 11/8 better.

I like them. I got the 1 1/8 1250 8s from Academy. I think they were marked as 1oz 1275 in the description but either load works for me. I dont notice a difference in breaks between these and AAs whereas I do with cheaper ammo. I dont knownif that is all in my head but the breaks are visually pleasing inkballs.
