For. 30” O/U only used for car trips to the gun club or to local shoots. Must have enough room for extended chokes. Thanks
I have one, and it works for me. I got it because it was large enough to hold 32" barrel with extended chokes. It has held together, but I am not hard on things. You get what you pay for. I usually take my guns to the club in gun socks, which they are already in, from being stored in the safe. If I used a break down case, I would have to take the gun out of the safe, break it down, drive to the club, assemble it. When done, break it down, and when I got home reassemble it, to put it away. Seems like a lot of steps. Now, I take the gun out of the safe, put in car, go to club and shoot, back in gun sock, back in car. When I get home, run a Tyco tool through the barrels, and put away. Some reviewers mention flimsy hardware on that case. If you have one let me me know your thoughts and experience with the case.TX
OMG - I talked to Jim today and am blown away with his knowledge and sincerity. He assured me that a case that I was looking at would be a mistake and recommended another one. He offered me a great deal and will ship it too for that price. I learned that Jim helps to design some of the Negrini cases including the 1657 that he showed me. Negrini has a lifetime Warranty, WOW. He can be pm’d from the vendor site or his number is on the ctcarrypermit siteGet in touch with TS Supporting Member JLYON. He is over in CT and is a Negrini dealer. I have three of his cases and they work very well for home to range car travel. He also supports his sales with service.
There are quite a few of us at the club have the breakdown sportlock hard case and none of us have any issues with them.I would definitely buy more of them if I needed for more guns. Some reviewers mention flimsy hardware on that case. I have 2 of these, the 36" and 42".Case got here, and I pulled the foam for the barrels and receiver. I have lots of room leftover. Now I just need to decide what else I want in the case. I am open to suggestions...
btw, the lid only opens to 90 degrees, I would have rather it lay flat. There are however braces/tabs on the back to add tie down points for the motorcycle so I guess it's a wash

That would be why the gun case stays with the vehicle and only the shell bag goes to the line.I have 2 of these, the 36" and 42".
I found them heavy and bulky not to mention they pretty much take up the whole table in any club. Not sure about others but I find it annoying when some guy flops a giant case on the table and pretty much renders it useless for anyone else.
that's the sportlock case's other's are talking about i know people who have them a great case for the moneyBirtchwood Casey has a line of cases that look similar to Browning style cases. They list them at $119.00 but can be found for less on the internet. A few guys at my local club have them and like them. I believe they are made in China.
Be sure that the size of the pocket the receiver fits in is large enough for what you have. Some times a high comb and dropped recoil pad make the it inpossible to fit in a smaller case.
